lyrics

Amargosa wept, the day that I left.
She traded smiles for tears, forgetting contentment.
But nothing seems to change, for one man is nothing.
For Amargosa though, I was her everything.

The desert screams her name,
her life had just begun.
The lonely tumbleweed
laying stoned out in the sun.
The mountains far away
had still remained unknown.
For Amargosa everything closer
was her home.

She never liked to be alone.

The time had come and gone.
She welcomed me so dear...
She held me in her arms,
letting go our only fear.
The moment had to come
for this was not my home.
I was the victim though,
I hated leaving her alone.

She said she wouldn't come,
she said she wouldn't leave with me.
Her friends and family,
that little place on Mesa St.
She said that I could stay,
'I didn't have to go away'
That's why we cried that day,
we knew it wasn't meant to be.

That's when I left her all alone.
Amargosa is still at home.
